Ethics Blog #4

Technical writers are responsible for telling the person of harm that can be inflicted directly by the product. I believe they must also tell of what different causes of problems are. I believe there are limits to technical writers responsiblities. The ultimate person responsible is ther person who is using the product. I mean user's must be responsible to use common sense. The responsibilities conflict when a warning or danger label will make the product seem unsafe, and will cause the company to loose money. So they don't include the label. As you can see from the 1st picture in the aricle the consequences can be serious injury or even death. I think a lot of product carry labels to obvious hazards to prevent the maker of the product from being liable. Especially if it is a case of user negligence.

Houston Astros

I am just about to sit down and watch game 2 of the World Series. Coming from Dallas I am more of an Rangers fan than a 'Stro's fan. However, I am cheering for the Astros, since they are a team for Texas. Tonight Andy Pettitte takes the mound against Mark Buehrle to try to help the Astro's rebound from there game one loss. Pettitte has quite a bit of postseason experience, mostly with the Yankees. In his las outing Pettitte only allowed 2 runs in 6 and 1/3 against the Card's, and is looking to continue his post season dominance tonight.
